WCW and NJPW Legend Great Muta Shockingly Appear at AEW Grand Slam

AEW Rampage kicked off the night with a match between Sting, Darby Allin and the House of Black, and Buddy Matthews, Brody King and Julia Hart wasted no time trying to get the upper hand. They would take Sting out of the match for a while by handcuffing, but just when it looked like he was done, WCW and NJPW legend and current NOAH star The Great Muta would show up and reserve, helping his former tag partner and enemy Sting. You can check out his great return in the post below.

Early in the match, King would take Allin out of the ring and this would allow Matthews and Hart to take Sting down and send him to the ropes and through a table. Then they handcuffed him and fired him so they could focus on Allen.

At one point Matthews and Hart would put up a chair and sit in it, then Matthews would grab a sting bat and come into the ring to attack him with it. Sting was laughing at him, almost making fun of him, and hitting him with the bat.

Matthews was willing to oblige but then the ring got dark. When the lights came back on, the Great Muta was coming out of the entrance ramp, and Matthews was stunned. Sting was happy, and that continued as Motta made his way to the ring. Matthews didn’t know what to do, and then it seemed that Mota was already going to attack Sting, but then he turned around and stood in front of him to protect him from Matthews.

Then Mota Matthews hit the green fog and at that point Sting freed himself. He installed Matthews for issue 3 and that was for House of Black.
